FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (answered by chris).

what happened to you guys in 2006?
we took a break, plain and simple.

what is going on? didn't you guys break up?
nope. things just got crazy in both of our lives. we made a decision that beauty's confusion is strictly going to be an occasional recording project between jenna and myself. we have no desire to play live anymore, or try to "get big" like we originally hoped a few years back. we just want to continue to record and release music, cheaply, or free! we're slowly working on the second BC full-length album. we have about six songs done for it.

was joel kicked out in early 2004?
certainly not. he had other obligations and wanted to pursue other musical projects. we are still cool, and we support him with any and all musical endeavors he embarks upon. he's an incredible songwriter and a great person, and he recently got married! congratulations, brother!

is chris hard to work with, musically and personally?
some people might think so. i certainly don't think i'm hard to work with. i'm one of the most open-minded and patient songwriters you'll ever come across. certain people i work with are more motivated than others, and some just don't understand my intense passion for music: writing, listening, and appreciating all aspects. i like to work with musicians and singers who really love the whole process... there aren't too many people out there like that. i'm a rare breed and i realize that, and i love it. :)

did/does BC really have a hard time getting live shows?
absolutely, especially in philly. the philadelphia area does not cater to "other" music (mellow indie stuff, trip-hop, and anything abnormal musically)... it is a heavily rock/metal & punk-focused city (as most cities are), with an overabundance of bad cover bands. ultimately, it's not a city that could help us get out there or further our dream. in my opinion, philly will not make or break a musical group, ever, especially with the great thing that is the internet, and the promotional tool myspace has become. i always focused on promoting BC's music on the web, as that seemed (and still seems) to have much more of a positive effect. we have the best fans, and they're all over the world, not just where we live. i communicate with fans far more often via email than anything else.

how come your CDs are CD-Rs and not "real" CDs?
because i print, burn, and shrinkwrap EVERYTHING by hand. i'm a firm believer in the DIY (do-it-yourself) ethic and believe that someone will appreciate something that was made by hand as opposed to some factory-made duplicate. it saves money in the long run, too. yes, my printer screws up on me often (which explains why our fans have to wait MONTHS before receiving a CD they ordered... sorry about that!), and sometimes i can't get the artwork's color to match from CD to CD, but this is how it's done. what matters to me most is the product's contents, not the look of the product. the kind of audience i wish to attract is the kind of audience that appreciates MUSIC, not an IMAGE. we're not jessica simpson, britney spears or fall out boy, and i'm glad we're not.

can i play your stuff on my podcast / internet radio station / etc?
please do, by all means. and let us know you're playing it, and we will link you from this website. this goes without saying, that you wanting to play our music for others to hear is the ULTIMATE compliment. thanks!
